overview
The first formal board of directors was elected in early summer 2020. The board is the highest entity of SIOC for making decisions on operational subjects. The board reports to Secretary General who is appointed by the Congress. The term for both BOD and SG will end in Summer 2022. Furthermore, 3 committees are assigned by the Congress to study, analyze, and recommend solutions on various subjects related to economic, social, and civic affairs of the targeted societies.

Katayoun (CCFP, COE) works as a family physician in the community and long term facilities. She immigrated to Canada in 2003 and has been practicing medicine in Manitoba, Nova Scotia and British Columbia since 2006.
Dr. Rahnavardi has a great interest in community work and has been involved in several social and volunteer activities. Despite her serious involvement in the battle against COVID-19 in 2020, she always tried to find times to help SIOC.

Darius (M Sc.) with engineering background has 15+ yrs of experience in project management. He worked in infrastructure mega projects such as dams and hydroelectric power plants. An active member of PMI Canadian West Coast Chapter and experienced many volunteer positions in different associations. He devoted to the community and believes in synergy of people who desire to contribute in their communities.
Dariush SaberiVice President
Manoochehr has Master Degree in Architecture. He landed in Vancouver in 2013 and works as a registered Architect in BC since then. He has 18+ years of experience volunteering in different community services, as chair and/or member of Iranian Society of Consulting Engineers (ISCE), International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC), and Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).

Amir is very well known to his community by his very valuable move to get Farsi approved as a second language option for students in BC.
His hard work in catching the target has been admired by all his fellow community members. He has also been assisting with SIOC in organizing as well as facilitating various events.

Alireza is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (PhD in Psychology) in BC, Canada who has experience in education and training, social science research, and psychological assessment since 1993. He is experienced working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of areas. In addition to his counselling private practice, he enjoys teaching psychology courses in social psychology, psychology of immigration, peace psychology and political psychology.

Mehdi, as a sociologist (PhD.) has more than 10 years experiences of lecturing, capacity building and social empowerment. Organizing the first national Conference of social work in Iran and 39th world congress of the international institute of sociology in Armenia were his outstanding scientific experience as an assistant professor and social facilitator

Farideh is a social activist and has many years of experience in social activities. Her soft skills from her 20+ years of shiny experience as an trustworthy employee has increased morale in SIOC. She has had a key role in motivating her fellow community members to overcome big challenges.
